“Today’s generation is very aware about what they want and they are more open to seeking help, students coming in to increase their self confidence, which shows that students know that we can visit counselor for self betterment” and not only some problems.”The issues that the students came up with were very diverse- i.e. from relationship issues to stress in studies. There was also an issue of bullying and relationship. Some turned up for stability of mind and some for management purpose.
The reason for which one can visit counselor is many but if we can specify them they are:
• Anxiety (About studies or anything)
• Difficulties with alcohol or drugs
• Anger management
• Traumatic experience
• Continuous worry about self
• Fear of public speaking
• To increase self confidence
• To perform better in exam
• To have a better relationship
Many workshops were conducted for students and staff members as “Motivation & Self awareness with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). “ EFT is a combination of Acupressure & Energy Psychology, which is a simple but very powerful tool to deal with our emotions that bother us, Mind Refreshment etc.
As the college has a Professional counselor coming in, it will be beneficial if more students will come forward to see. More students are becoming open to receiving help & becoming more efficient in dealing with their emotional issues.
